Born: 1972 Current Rank: 2nd Degree Black Belt. Favourite Martial Arts Film: Long term it's always been Best Of The Best but Fighter In The Wind is definitely in the running. Favourite Food: Rare steak. Favourite Technique: I'm not big into competition fighting, I like the simple effective techniques; low kicks, vital point strikes etc. Key achievements: - Started training in 1991 under Mr John Clark at Kirkstall Tae Kwon Do.
- Shortly after started training with Master Paul Liversidge at Morley Tae Kwon Do (although still with Mr Clark who was also a student of Master Liversidge).
- Passed 1st Degree Black Belt in 1994.
- Won EMA English Championship in 1996 (Semi-Contact Points).
- Founded IMPACT Tae Kwon Do Club in 1997.
- Passed 2nd Degree Black Belt in 1997.
"Hi. My name is Simon East and I am the Instructor of IMPACT Tae Kwon Do. I started Tae Kwon Do in 1991 and it has proven to be both challenging and rewarding. I have met many great people and made good friends through training, too many to list here but you know who you are. My advice for anyone thinking about taking up the Martial Arts: Just do it. (Hope I haven't infringed on Nike's Copyright there). Try a few out and pick the style and club you like best." - Simon East |
